The Chicago District Golf Association’s Junior Open Championship is one of its oldest annual events run by the association. It was first conducted in 1936 with John Nixon prevailing as the champion. Currently the championship is a 54-Hole event with the entire field playing the first 36-Holes and the low 30 and ties play the final 18 holes. The winner of this Championship is the recipient of the Walter G. Leinger Trophy.
