The IJGA began its season of regional events on Monday, June 2, at Village Greens Golf Club in Woodridge, Ill.  With temperatures in the mid 80s and the sun peeking through the clouds throughout the day, it proved to be a very enjoyable day of golf for all of the players in the field.

Eric Ogasawara claimed top honors in the Senior Boys division after firing a one-over-par round of 73.  Ogasawara made a huge comeback on the back nine, birdying four of his last nine holes to card a 33 on the backside.  Matt Lohmeyer (Naperville, IL) was one shot back of the champion at 74, finishing in second place.  Patrick Clavio (Orland Park, IL) carded a four-over-par 76 to claim third place.

Brian Bullington (Frankfort, IL) shot a phenomenal round of three-under-par 69, taking first place honors in the Junior Boys division.  Bullington's impressive round consisted of four birdies and an eagle  on the par 5 eighteenth hole to finish the round.  Darren Robbins (Darien, IL) came in second with a 77.

The course proved tougher for the girls’ field, as Marisa Miko (Naperville, IL) was the only female to break 80, finishing in first for the Senior Girls flight with a 79.  Cooper Shawen (Bolingbrook, IL) took second place.

There was a three-way tie for first in the Junior Girls division, with three 86s.  Julia Radgowski (Frankfort, IL) won the four-hole playoff and claimed first place.  Stephanie Delrose (New Lenox, IL) placed second, while Elisa Palluau (Naperville, IL) finished third.
