It was a great day for golf on Wednesday, June 11, at the Links at Carillon. Beautiful weather and great course conditions were the perfect recipe for phenomenal shots and low scores.
Brian Bullington (Frankfort, IL) and Michael Kenning (Downers Grove, IL) stole the show with a pair of outstanding four-under-par 68s. Bullington, who had five birdies on the day, hopped on the birdie train with four-in-a-row coming from the eighth through eleventh holes. Kenning had four birdies for the day and finished in style with a birdie on seventeen and an eagle on the par 5 eighteenth hole.
Michael Kwasigroch (Burr Ridge, IL) placed second in the Junior Boys division behind Bullington with a great round of 74. Kwasigroch’s round included an amazing six birdies and an eagle on the par 5 sixth hole. Russell Katz (Oak Brook, IL) earned second place in the Senior Boys division with an even-par round of 72. Katz started off hot with back-to-back eagles on the first and second holes.
Ryann Gilley (Flossmoor, IL), hot off of her win at Woodbine yesterday, was low for the girls with an 81. Gilley’s great score included five birdies and an eagle in the par 5 sixth hole. Carly Shapiro (Lockport, IL) was one stroke back of Gilley and earned herself a second place finish in the Junior Girls division with an 82.
Marisa Miko (Naperville, IL) was low for the Senior Girls division with an 87, while Melanie Walsh (Mt. Prospect, IL) was one stroke back at 88, good enough for a second place finish.
