Title Detail
"On-Site" Waiting List

As found at www.ijga.org.

If you are still on the waiting list prior to an event, IJGA policy states that you may come to the event site prior to the first tee-time and be placed on a "stand by" list. Please be advised that the "stand by" list will be decided on a first come-first serve basis and ONLY people who are officially on the waiting list PRIOR to the event will be allowed to fill in. There are still NO on-site applications taken at IJGA events.

Please note that we are instituting this policy in the hope of benefitting our members who are willing to take the "chance" of getting into an "oversubscribed" event.

At no time will the IJGA staff (full-time or interns) tolerate verbal abuse from parents or members who still do not get into the field. If such actions occur, the member may be prohibited from using the "stand by" policy for the remainder of the year.

Code of Conduct / Etiquette

The IJGA takes great pride in the quality of its players, host facilities and level of tournament experience. In order to continue making IJGA tournaments enjoyable for everyone, the IJGA requires all members to adhere to a set of guidelines known as “The Code of Conduct”. Its purpose is to help IJGA participants to truly become “Better People Through Junior Golf”. The Code of Conduct is to be followed throughout the junior’s membership.

VIOLATIONS OF CODE OF CONDUCT

Any of the following actions by an IJGA member at an IJGA event, non-IJGA event, or toward another IJGA member anywhere, constitutes a violation of the IJGA Code of Conduct:

• Unsportsmanlike conduct, including abusive language, cheating, club throwing, disrespect to volunteers, officials or fellow competitors, or abuse of golf course property

• Not adhering to the dress code at the host golf course

• Use or association with drugs or alcohol, smoking or chewing tobacco products

• Conduct not becoming of an IJGA player, such as acting in anger or creating other distractions

• Physical abuse, threat of physical abuse or verbal abuse, slander or libel towards other players, parents, coaches, sponsors, host golf course staff or members, IJGA staff or volunteers in any medium

CODE OF CONDUCT VIOLATION PENALTIES

Any Code of Conduct violation may result in a written letter to the player and his or her parent/guardian. As the IJGA sees fit, this letter may be sent to any other individuals involved, host professionals, or high school/college coaches. The IJGA Tournament Committee may assess any or all of the following penalties based on severity and frequency of the violation(s).

• Verbal warning designating the specific conduct violation

• Immediate disqualification from the tournament at which the violation occurs

• Depending on the severity of the violation, a tournament disqualification may also result in disqualification from the next event(s) for which a player has been accepted

• The IJGA reserves the right to suspend or revoke a player’s membership for a major breach of the IJGA Code of Conduct

• Violation of the IJGA Code of Conduct may affect a player’s eligibility for invitationals and postseason honors

SUSPENSION INFORMATION

In the event of a suspension, the player/guardian will have the option to submit a written appeal of the Code of Conduct violation to the IJGA Executive Committee within 30 days of the suspension.

The Executive Committee will review the Tournament Committee’s initial judgment. This will include the IJGA tournament staff account of the violation, any other violations to date, along with any other pertinent information. Any player whose membership is under suspension will not be eligible for postseason honors.

CODE OF CONDUCT/MEDIA RELEASE

Membership in the IJGA signifies both the player and the parent/guardian understand and agree to adhere to the Code of Conduct. IJGA membership also signifies the player’s agreement of the use of their name and likeness for publicity and promotional purposes under NCAA and USGA guidelines.

Confirmation of Entries

The IJGA does NOT confirm your entry by mail or phone, however, online entries will recieve email confirmation of a charge to their credit card after their entry has been accepted.  Tee times will be emailed a week prior to the event.

No-Show Policy

If a player fails to withdraw (No Show/No Card) from an IJGA Event, he/she will forfeit entry fee for that event, will be removed from their next event without refund, and will be on probation for the remainder of the season. A second No Show/No Card in a season will result in suspension from all remaining IJGA tournaments and events for the season – there will be NO refund of event fees.

Refunds

Refund Date for tournament: June 3, 2008

Juniors withdrawing from tournaments requiring an Electronic Preference Sticker (IJGA Regional’s and YDP Events) before the Full Refund Date will receive a full refund as your credit card will not be charged.

The Full Refund Date is four weeks prior to the day of the tournament.

Once the Full Refund Date for an event has passed, but it is still two weeks before the event date, juniors withdrawing from an event will receive a refund minus a $25 Processing Fee per event. If a junior withdraws from an event within two weeks of the event, no refund will be issued

All IJGA Events filled on a First-Come, First-Served basis will not have an associated refund date for the tournament. Credit Cards are automatically charged upon acceptance into the event. Therefore all refunds requested before two weeks of the event will be granted with a $25 Processing Fee per event. Any withdrawal requested within two weeks of the event date will not be subject to refund.

NOTE: Member Links button located on www.ijga.org has a complete listing of events requiring an Electronic Preference Sticker as well as First-Come, First-Served events. You will also be able to see an official listing of all Refund Dates can be found within Member Links.
