IJGA Parent/Junior #5 at Pine Meadow

It was a beautiful day for golf on Saturday, as the IJGA held its last Parent/Junior event of the season for its Playing Members at Pine Meadow GC in Mundelein, Ill.  The sun was shining, the winds were calm, and the course was in great shape.  Thirty-two Father/Son pairings, seven Father/Daughter duos and a single pairing in both the Mother/Son and Mother/Daughter divisions made up the highly competitive, yet friendly field of participants.

 

The competition was fierce, as there were 11 scores below par in the Father/Son division. Claiming first place was the duo of John and Kevin McIlree, firing a six-under-par round of 66 for the win. Right behind the champions were Chris Kizorek and Bob Polanzi, who carded an impressive round of 67. Mark and Teddy Kon rounded out the top three finishers with a four-under par round of 68.

 

Catherine and Bob McGowan took home top honors among the Father/Daughter division with a great score of 69. Alexandra and Tom Kessler placed second with a four-over-par round of 76. Nicole and Mark Feierberg were just one shot behind, carding a 77, which got them a third place finish in their flight.

 

The lone Mother/Son pairing of Eric and Ellen Van Wart turned in a round of 78, while the only Mother/Daughter pair of Barbara and Molly Cizek carded a 95.
